We only fire as high as Cone 6 and you will be responsible for damage to our equipment.

Grinding Fines

When glaze drips onto a kiln shelf, it can sometimes be ground off to preserve the shelf. If your work adheres to the kiln shelf and therefore requires extra time and work by our Studio Technicians, you will be fined $15 per piece. If more substantial damage occurs, the kiln damage fine will be in effect.

Kiln Damage Fines

If your work was unsuitable to fire (bisque to Cone 06 and Glaze to Cone 5/6) and we incur damages to our kiln, you will be charged at cost for repairs or replacement. Repair costs vary and can be substantial - upwards of $1,000.

*HTX Clay is equipped with the highest quality kilns and equipment. Only experienced and trained staff will handle and fire your ceramic work. However, by the nature of ceramics, there remains a risk of technical failure for which HTX Clay and trained staff cannot be held responsible.

*Please note that organic materials, paper, salt, wood, glass sourced from outside our studio, and metal (with the exception of approved Kemper High Temp Wire) are not allowed inside our kilns.
