Cyanotype on Clay with Courtney Maulding

Are you looking to explore imagery on ceramics? Join us for a 3-hour cyanotype on clay workshop. This amazing experience will have you explore the techniques of cyanotype and how imagery interacts with clay. You will learn how a cyanotype is a blueprint that requires sunlight or UV rays for the blue to show. You will be guided through every step of the process, helping you be open to learning new techniques. Students will learn how to print images on bisque tiles using the cyanotype method. Students will also learn how to print pressed flowers and leaves on bisque vessels. Whether you are a beginner or a professional potter, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore and try new methods on already-made ceramics.

Crafting Ceramic Candle Vessels with Lauren Clay: A Collaboration with Forth and Nomad

Unleash your creativity and immerse yourself in the world of candle crafting and design with our unique workshop, "Crafting Ceramic Candle Vessels: A Collaboration with Forth and Nomad." Join us for a hands-on experience that combines the art of vessel-making with the captivating ambiance of candlelight.

We've partnered with Forth and Nomad to bring you a one-of-a-kind crafting experience. In this workshop we will approach the handbuilt vessel form with candles in mind, but also with consideration to what life the pot may live after the wick burns out and the wax burns down. We will cover soft slab building techniques using templates with an option for a lidded vessel. We will also be combining light and dark clay bodies to create visual patterns in our slabs. These patterns will include marbling, striping, and abstract line + shape compositions.

Clay as Canvas by artist Tammie Rubin

In this hands-on workshop, students will learn to create colorful, complex surfaces using underglazes, underglaze transfers, and slip trailing, learn techniques such as sgraffito, incise design, sprigging, stamping, and inlay, and learn how to use quick stencils and resist techniques on greenware clay. Students will explore multi-layered surfaces that can embellish functional or sculptures. While the students will use greenware clay, there will be a discussion of how to finish artwork with glazes.
