Back by popular demand! Join us once again for our Overglaze and Luster workshop where we will delve into the techniques and possibilities of using overglazes in ceramics! This workshop will be led by artists and owners of HTX Clay, Abbie Edmonson and Jessica Gutierrez.

This workshop will have several hands-on demonstrations and practice sessions covering various overglaze application methods, including brushing techniques and using a gold pen applicator to create even lines and typography. With our guidance, you will discover the nuances of each technique and learn how they influence the final results.

Emphasizing safety, this workshop will cover the proper handling, storage, and disposal of overglazes. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of best practices and how to protect themselves and others in a community studio.

HTX Clay will provide each participant with an overglaze starter pack - an overglaze of your choice, one overglaze pen applicator, two paintbrushes, one glazed test tile, a mask, and gloves.

 Basic knowledge of ceramics is recommended but not required. Participants are encouraged to bring 2-3 of their own glazed-fired ceramic pieces for experimentation.
